Glacier to Seattle. A Scooby Doo marathon.

Guess how many Scooby Doos it takes to drive from Glacier National Park to Seattle, Washington? I'm not 100% sure on the number of episodes, but each one seemed like a lifesaver.

We got up at 4:00 a.m. MDT, were on the road by 5:00 a.m. And made it to our campsite in Federal Way at 4:00 p.m. PDT. It was a long day. Did you know that eastern Washington is not a lush forest? It looks like west river South Dakota. Hilly, grazing land with rocky outcroppings, and brush. This goes on until you're almost in Seattle. Oof-da. That was not what I was expecting.

Driving into the city with the camper was a bit white knuckle inducing. And I wasn't even driving. At one point we were at a stand still and Marcus looks out from a "dad's gotta concentrate to drive here's another Scooby Doo" and says, "this is a real traffic jam." Yep. It sure was.

Once we arrived at our site we unhooked the trailer, threw on full swim gear and headed down a tropical rainforest trail to the sound where we were sure we'd be swimming up a storm.

Along the trail we got a few odd looks. Let's be real. Everyone looked at us like we were from outer space. But we are the Munschs and if there is water, we're going to get into it.

Once we got to the beach we realized why everyone looked at us so funny. The tide was way out and it wasn't really swimming water. The Munschs preserved. We put down our giant Ikea bag of gear. And waded in the water like we'd never seen a body of water before. The boys were in full-fledged life jackets and had little super hero kick boards. They flopped around and spit out saltwater, and built sand moats and castles.

Then I noticed our stuff was getting wet. The tide was coming in and it was coming in fast. For the next hour, we had fun moving our stuff to where we thought the water wouldn't get it. Over and over and over again. The water kept on coming.

While the tide was rising, the boys were fascinated by a couple of guys skimboarding. It looked really fun and the boys must have had their big doe eyes out because the guys let each one of the three try skimboarding several times. Watching the boys in the water was priceless. We had such a good time that we forgot all about the day-long car ride.

After "swimming" we came back to camp, took showers (Full hookups!!) and Jason made us some delicious Mongolian chicken stir fry.

Then off to bed where we slept like dead horses.
