From San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Saturday morning we woke up before the sun and got on the road. We were heading to San Clemente, just south of Los Angeles.

It was a smooth ride with the boys listening to movies and Jason and me listening to the latest Jim Gaffigan book. If you have not listened to this book you need to do so immediately. It is all about food and hysterical.

When the traffic became congested around the city Jason and I concentrated on keeping the trailer between the lines and in the correct lane.

Traffic was slow at times but we knew it would be and we got to our campsite right before supper. We've noticed that no matter what time we leave or how many miles we have to drive we always get to our campsite right before supper. It's a thing.

Once we setup little boys started stripping down into swim suits. Jason made them eat first, but then we were off to the beach to swim!!

They ran and played and swam until they were freezing cold.

Marcus is my brave one. He would fight against the surf and go out to ride the waves with Jason. Sure he got totally tossed a few times, but he would always come out of the water with a thumbs up and a silly smile on his face.

Lucas never did get in the water above his knees. He's very cautious about life. He also gets cold first everytime we do anything where there's a possibility to get cold. Tonight was no exception.

Samus enjoyed himself swimming out with Jason a couple of times and racing the waves onto the shore.

They were in love. And Jason and I were in love with them being in love. It was the perfect end to a long drive.

Speaking of that. Each time we have to drive for a day, we think we're never going to make it. But when we arrive at our destination we are so overwhelmed with the new, fresh, amazing scenery that the drive seems like it took moments instead of hours.

Anyway, we wrapped the night with Smores by the fire. Marcus fell asleep on my lap. Perfect.
