Look we’re in Delaware… my favorite line for this stop said by me way to often. But you know what I think that Wayne’s World line formed my thoughts of Delaware my entire life as being a drab boring place. Now that I’ve been to Delaware, you know what it’s pretty awesome. At least this exact spot at this time of year. I think we’ve mentioned it before but we tend to judge an entire state based off our short stint of time in it on our trips. Anyway Delaware has a laid back beach feel with some awesome beaches and powerful surf.
As you can see we made it to Delaware, pretty easy drive some traffic before the bay bridge but after that pretty smooth sailing zigzagging through Delaware until we hit the costal hwy and made it our campsite at the south Indian river campground in
Delaware seashore state park. It’s right past a cool bridge that we walked under to the beach, a easy stroll from the campground. We spent our time playing in the surf, the waves are a bit sucky (also said often), like wanted to suck you out into the ocean but strong and a ton of fun to play in just didn’t ever go out very far not that we needed to as it got to 5-6 feet deep pretty quickly. It was crazy strong waves that would toss you if you weren’t paying attention or even sometimes if you were. We all got tossed a few times. Marcus the most often but he was asking for it and hanging out in the “meat grinder” as we called where the waves broke closer to shore and most of the power was unleashed.
It was a good stop we just hung out at the camper or at the beach recovering from the marathon that was Washington DC. The last night we ventured to Rehoboth and went Mini golfing just to get out and do something else.

Look we’re in Delaware. I know the line is Hi I’m in Delaware but it morphed and is funny either way. |

Oh yeah I forgot to mention we had another significant breakdown this stop. This is our fresh water tank under the camper, I had to unbolt the undercarriage skirt to see where all the water was coming from after we got back from the beach the first time right after we pulled in. This took the whole rest of that first evening, finishing up in the dark. Becky was not very impressed with the camper continuing to give us problems. We must have hit something on the road. I ended up using some jb water weld since it was potable water safe. Had to stop at two places in Rehoboth to find it, anyway just slapped it up there and it brought it down to a really slow drip, I hope it holds once we get moving and bouncing around. Stay tuned.

Need to leave but it’s been raining hard all morning, we’re trying to wait it out. Also we left everything on the drying rack so we’ll have a wet mess to take to the next stop also at the beach. the outer banks in North Carolina. |
