Traveling with the Munschs: Antelope Island Pictures

Here are my pictures from our stop at Antelope Island State Park in the Great Salt Lake. We've been without service for a while and I'm falling behind Becky a bit here so I need to try to get caught up. The drive was pretty quick to Salt Lake City, traffic got a little crazy when we got into the city but we got to our campsite at Bridger Bay and setup and since we had a lot of the day remaining and it was in the 90's we headed right to the beach down the road to take a dip. It was disgusting, just nasty, the lake was like a sheet of glass and there were bugs and some sort of grim floating everywhere. The bugs were really bad at the shore but once you got out a few yards it wasn't a massive swarm. We had to walk out a long ways so we couldn't touch to get the full effect of just how floaty it was, we were like corks it was fun and made the nasty part bearable.
The next day we drove around the island and checked out some of the sites. Then when we got to the afternoon we stopped by the beach buffalo burger joint and had some burgers and then went swimming again. Today it was hot but also windy which if you ask me is the way to swim in the salt lake, the bugs were down to just a small band at the shore and all the grim and muck from the day before was pushed out by the waves. Beside getting a mouth full of salt water from a wave now and again it was great.
Our last day I took a 5 mile out and back hike along the lake shore that stared from our campground. It was a easy hike over some rocky terrain. Later that day we went to town to do laundry and grab some groceries. Anyway here are the pictures from our stop in SLC.
